Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. We deliver internet orders free of charge to the entire United States. If you choose 3-Day, 2-Day or Overnight shipping, UPS rates will be charged based on your zip code.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes. We offer 10% on orders of $150 or more.
When checking out you must enter the code "JMO" in the coupon area on the payment page of checking out, otherwise the 10% will not be deducted.

Can I order products outside of the U.S.?

Yes you can, however not from this website. We have distributors across the globe who can answer any specific questions you have concerning products in your country. You can find a list of foreign distributors here.

Is your ordering system secure?

Yes. We use Yahoo's industry-leading secure payment processing software for all credit card transactions. In more than a decade of online sales, we have a perfect security record.

How long will it take to get my order?

All internet orders are filled as quickly as possible, often within 24 hours. Orders placed during weekends and holidays are received on the next business day. Once an order is fulfilled you will receive an email with a UPS tracking number. Our fulfillment facility is located in California. Please see map below for UPS's estimated delivery time for ground shipping to your part of the country. Number of transit days is not guaranteed by UPS but is a good estimate. Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and Guam will generally be sent using the U.S. Postal Service and are also free of charge unless expedited shipping is requested. PLEASE NOTE: Selecting 2-day, 3-day or overnight shipping does NOT mean that your order will be processed faster by our warehouse. Once your order is processed by the warehouse, the shipper delivers in two days, three days or overnight.

Do you collect sales tax?

Due to state tax laws, we are required to collect state sales tax in New York, where our flagship store is located, California, where we pack and ship our products, and Hawaii.

Will my personal information be kept private?

Yes. We at John Masters organics respect your right to privacy. Therefore the information collected on this website will follow the strict guidelines of the Yahoo! Privacy Policy and John Masters Organics will never sell your information to a third party.

What is your return policy?

All sales are final. If your product was damaged during delivery or is found to be defective, you may send it back, with receipt, within 10 days for exchange. Shipping & handling charges are not refundable. Please contact customer service before returning any item.

How do I know which products are right for me?

There is a thorough description of ingredients, properties, usage, and directions on each product page. You can also find customer testimonials by clicking the "read PRAISE for this product" button. If you have more questions, try our toll-free help line at 1-844-324-2233.

How do you decide which ingredients to use?

All ingredients must meet John's strict guidelines :

  1. All products must be made with 70-100% organic content
  2. No sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens, DEAs, MEAs, or TEAs
  3. No GMOs (Genetically Modified Organism)
  4. No animal testing
  5. No artificial colors, fragrances or fillers
  6. All plant extracts and essential oils must be certified organic whenever possible
  7. All essential oils used must be steam-distilled and not extracted with propylene glycol - which kills the effect of the oils
  8. All plant oils must be cold pressed, not heat distilled - which kills the therapeutic properties of plant oils
  9. All ingredients must be proven to be beneficial to the hair or skin
  10. All ingredients must be harvested in an environmentally-friendly manner (wild-crafted)
  11. All ingredients must be bio-degradable as possible
  12. Fair-Trade ingredients must be used when possible

Who certifies your ingredients?

John Masters Organics follows the USDA certified-organic food standards. These standards are the strictest in the world. The agencies we work with directly to help certify our ingredients and products according to USDA standards are as follows:

Are your products certified organic?

At the moment the USDA organic seal is only approved for products that meet their acceptable edible food standards. New progress is being made everyday to help create a standard for the cosmetic industry. It is very important to John Masters Organics to have the seal on all of the products as soon as it is available.

Are your products tested on animals?

As John's favorite pooch Maya knows, he believes in ethical treatment for all animals. Including humans. None of our ingredients or products are tested on any animals and John Masters Organics is endorsed by PETA.

Are your products Vegan?

The entire John Masters line is vegan except for the following products: Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner (contains honey), Sweet Orange & Silk Protein Styling Gel (silk proteins), Hair Pomade (beeswax), Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructor (honey), Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructing Shampoo (honey), and Lip Calm (beeswax).

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes, our haircare bottles are made of PET (1) plastic. This is the most recyclable plastic. Your community recycling will gladly accept it. The tubes are made of MDPE (2) plastic. This plastic is the second most recyclable. All of the amber glass used for the skincare and some of the haircare is fully recyclable. And the boxes used for the skincare are made from 100% recycled paper with 100% soy ink. They can be recycled wherever paper is accepted. All closures are made of HDPE and are often accepted for recycling. Packing "peanuts" used for shipping are made from sugar and will decompose.

Do your products contain Parabens or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate?

No. John Masters Organics products are entirely free of all parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate.

Do your products contain preservatives?

All products that contain water and are not pure distillates need preservatives to ensure they remain safe and free of bacteria. We use the safest, most natural preservatives available and we are constantly updating our products as the newest preservatives become available. You can find the ingredients under each product on the website.

What is the shelf life of your products?

All products have a shelf life of 3 years unopened, with the exception of our SPF 30 Natural Mineral Sunscreen, which has a 2 year shelf life. Once opened, we suggest using all products within 6 months.
